DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Imbolc Fire Walk\nAt this time of Imbolc\, when life is resting still beneath the chilled earth\, we invite you to join us on the land to feel the primal call of spring as it awakens. To witness the first green shoots pushing through solid ground to rejoice in warmth returning. To witness that which we left sleeping in the dead of winter come to fruition. At this balancing time between spring and winter\, life and death\, lies the perfect opportunity to release that that no longer serves us and nurture the new and precious within. As the seed dreams in the earth\, there is a spark of creation deep inside us\, a pure potential that can be awakened at this time. \n  \nFor centuries the people of these lands have lit fires in this season\, in honour of the primal force of spring returning. Celebrations to honour the maiden\, the Celtic fire Goddess Bridget\, would be held in the spirit of growth and renewal. Patron of smith craft\, healing\, midwifery\, she invites you to step into the transformative fires of her forge. She asks us to walk through her deep and cleansing fire and let all that is impure\, that impedes or restrains us\, to be taken. To brave the crucible and let ourselves be reformed stronger\, purer and more complete. When we walk with the intention and own the force within\, we not only transform ourselves\, we light the fire of inspiration in others. We become powerful agents of creativity in the world. Join us and answer the promise of spring within. \n  \n  \n  \nFirewalking is an act of self-discovery practiced for millennia all over the world. It is a symbolic rite of passage. Just as the wildfires in nature burn away dead and lifeless debris left on the land and fertilise it with ash\, creating space for the sunlight and rain to reach the seeds of new growth\, so the Firewalk allows us to release energetic and emotional burdens to the Fire\, making way for new beginnings. \nWhat you can expect and look forward to for the Imbolc walk. \nOn arrival I shall invite a moment to connect with yourselves and each other\, I will guide you in a meditation of intent.  Then as a newly formed tribe for the evening\, we shall light the fire and connect with that flame. DESCRIPTION:Winter Solstice Firewalk\n \nOur firewalk has been set to coincide with the arrival of the Winter Solstice sun as it enters Capricorn at 16:27. \nThe start time for this event is subject to change if people find the time to too early. \nAn invitation to join us as we meditate on what the Solstice means for us. \nIn this darkest time of the year we celebrate the return of the Divine Child\, the Mabon\, the rebirth of the golden solstice Sun\, who will bring warmth\, light and life back to Earth again. The Wheel of the Year revolves beyond death and towards new light and new life. \nAll those that are attending are invited to bring offerings to the fire\, to bring evergreens and wreaths to decorate the area and to join in the celebration of community and fire. \nThe afternoon/evening will start with a coming together\, a guided meditation and space to write your prayers for the coming of the sun and the new year. \n  \n  \nPracticalities \nPlease dress warmly and bring a camping chair to sit on for around the fire. \nLocation –Woodland \nPlease wear appropriate clothing for a woodland environment and as we are in England please allow for the chance of a little rain. \nThere will be a woodland toilet for the ladies and trees for the men \nLeg wear – please ensure that either you can roll up your trousers or you are wearing appropriate leg wear. \nThings to bring – Torch\, Water to drink\, Offering for the fire \n  \nWinter Solstice\nThe Sun enters Capricorn. \nSilent night. Holy night. Make a special effort to clear this night of activities so that you can sit quietly and consciously experience the magically potent atmosphere of this\, the most important turning point of the Wheel of the Year – the timeless space between Death and Rebirth. This\, the longest night\, gives evidence that the encroaching powers of darkness have reached their peak and that the Sun has reached the end of its southerly progress. Wait and hope. It is into this barren\, timeless void\, when green life has\, for the most part\, withdrawn from the surface that life’s creative fires are reborn. The oak king lives. Imagine that the low lying Sun is kissing the green world awake so that over the months to come she will arise and follow him up into sky. \nExpress trust in life’s survival by bringing in ever-greens and encourage the new birth by decorating the space with candles\, baubles and tinsel\, anything that catches and reflects the light. Enjoy a feast of the fruits of last year’s labour but then let the past die and look forward. Listen to the stirrings within the deepest darkest recesses of your body that want to grow and show themselves in the light. Dream a new dream. Focus on the flames released by burning wood\, honouring the fires of life that animate all growing things.
